The Basics of Poker

In the game of poker, the players sit at the left side of the table, starting from the big blind or button. They sit there for the next betting round, and for subsequent rounds. The first-to-act player sits to the left of the big blind and the button. In the same manner, the button sits to the left of the player in the next position, and so on.

No-Limit poker

The key to winning at No-limit poker is to adopt the correct strategy. If you don’t know how to play this particular type of poker, the pot can get out of hand very quickly. Beginners should use a tight-aggressive strategy, folding most of their hands preflop but playing their strong hands aggressively.

Draw poker

Draw poker is a variant of poker where players are dealt a complete hand before the first betting round. During subsequent rounds, players replace cards to develop their hand. The game’s name is derived from the fact that players draw cards to replace their own cards.

Five-card draw

Five-card draw is a variation of Texas hold’em poker. Its rules are fairly simple. The goal is to make the best five-card combination possible. This may be achieved by making the best hand or by bluffing your opponent. The more you know about this variation of poker, the better your chances will be.

4-of-a-Kind

Four-of-a-Kind poker is a type of hand in poker where four cards have the same rank and one card has the opposite rank. Four-of-a-kind is not a very common poker hand and requires bluffing tactics to win. When the hand is won, the highest ranking card is called the kicker card.
